About The Workshops
"Workshops are a wonderful way to grow and expand! There is nothing like watching another artist do her thing. Even if you are extremely proficient in a certain method or technique, you can always benefit from experiencing first hand how someone else does it and why. Not only can you pick up new techniques at a workshop, but you can benefit in less tangible ways as well. By listening to another artist's perspective, you can expand your own. "

Edinburgh, Scotland Workshops
Workshops can range from a small private group in your home studio to a large guild or retail shop setting. It is recommended that you have a minimum size group of 4 students.
While each workshop will focus on particular techniques, students are free to create whatever they choose. Students will learn a wide variety of tips and techniques as Hattie demonstrates her unique approach to working with this fantastic medium. The workshops are fast paced and students are encouraged to use their own creative style. Students may work with either Art Clay® or PMC® brand metal clay products.
Your group may choose to have a gathering one evening during Hattie's visit where she will give an informal presentation of her work.

Workshop Descriptions
Dome Ring WorkshopCreate a beautiful dome ring. This design features a hollow form with no burnable core.
Serenity Ring Workshop
Create a metal clay bezel for a large, deep fire in place gemstone and set it into a wide shank ring design that is comfortable to wear.
Reversible Box Focal WorkshopCreate reversible box style hollow forms in metal clay for pendants or bracelets. Just flip the jewelry for a totally different look!
Open Work Beads Workshop
Learn open bead construction techniques for metal clay to create an endless variety of dynamic designs!
Spinner Ring Workshop
Create a metal clay ring with interchangeable spinning parts. The design also allows you to vary the height of the spinning parts!
Flower Petal Ring Workshop
Learn how to envelope a metal clay "flower petals" bead over any round bead, either fireable or non-fireable. Join the parts to create a ring that spins with colorful delight!
Mood Swing Pendant WorkshopConstruct a one of a kind interchangeable spinning bead pendant in metal clay. Change the beads to suit your mood! The design also allows you to vary the length and number of beads!
Lidded Vessel Pendant
Create a beautiful metal clay vessel pendant with a stoppper lid. The possibilities are endless!
Pearl Ring WorkshopCreate a stunning ring that features a pearl cradled in a constructed tower form. Use your creativity to design a real show stopper!
Carved Bracelet Focals Workshop
Create metal clay bracelet focals as you learn how to make both positive and negative carved images in metal clay!
Fundamentals of Ring Making Workshop
Learn Hattie's step by step fundamental ring making techniques to create metal clay rings that will hold up to the daily wear and tear that rings endure.
Metal Clay Basics Workshop
Learn the fundamentals of working with metal clay as you design and create pendants and earrings!
Design WorkshopExplore several design concepts and practices as you learn how to build a very personal library of inspiration and practical exercises to evolve your ideas into finished works of art that are uniquely yours.
